MACROFUNGAL DIVERSITY IN DIFFERENT VEGETATION COMPOSITIONS IN TEGHARI COMMUNITY FOREST, KAILALI, WEST NEPAL

چکیده

Macrofungi are high-value forest resources that have functionally significant roles in the ecosystem. The macrofungal community of three different vegetation compositions, i.e., Sal (Shorea robusta) Forest, Tropical Deciduous Riverine and Evergreen Forest Teghari Community were investigated. Systematic random sampling was made where 60 plots (10 x 10 m) laid all types (20 each). A total 102 macrofungi species reported belonging to 36 families. Polyporaceae (17 species) largest family followed by Tricholomataceae (13 saprophytic fungi more frequent than mycorrhizal parasitic fungi. tropical evergreen rich (59 sal (40 deciduous riverine (38 species). Macrofungal diversity directly related surrounding host species. Similarly, increased soil moisture canopy cover intensified abundance richness with increasing organic carbon, canopy, moisture, pH, litter cover. However, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium less affecting richness. Also, disturbance negatively correlated macrofungi. This study highlights hidden which is necessary for conservation macrofungi, optimize ecosystem integrity resilience against biotic abiotic agents

Functional variability of macrofungal populations in four different forest types of Costa Rica

A series of functional variables, including biomass and hymenial area, were obtained for more than 4800 individual macrofungal sporocarps and correlated with a set of ecological parameters characterizing soil, climate and forest structure in four different forest types of Costa Rica. The idea behind this project was to document macrofungi over a three-year period with the objective of generatin...

Fire Ecology of Ground Vegetation in Pinus roxburghii Sargent Plantations in North-West Himalaya - Floristic Composition and Species Diversity

Effect of fire on phyto-sociology of understorey vegetation in chir pine forests of three different silvological characteristics was compared with pure grassland. 15 grasses, 1 sedge, 5 legumes and 21 non-legumes were recorded in the four study sites. Floristic composition gradually increased from June to August and then declined slowly by October in all the plots. Maximum number of species wa...

Improving Community-level Governance: Adaptive Learning and Action in Community Forest User Groups in Nepal

It is widely believed that Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) can help community organisations improve their internal learning and governance. However, the processes of programme monitoring and evaluation as practised by many organisations lack the elements of community participation and ownership and the appreciation of its contribution to community learning. Wider less...

Equity, Inclusion and Conflict in Community Based Forest Management: A Case of Salghari Community Forest in Nepal

The equity and inclusion issues are widely observed in Community Based Forest Management (CBFM) and Community Forestry (CF) is not an exception. Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) are portrayed as robust grassroots institutions for forest management and group governance. However, many contemporary researches have shown that CFUGs are still governed by some influential local elites who hardly ...
